General Questions

Q: What is the date and time of the walk? 
A: The community walk will occur on June 8th from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. 

Q: Where is the starting point of the walk? 
A: The starting point is at the Lincoln Memorial on the National Mall. 

Q: How long is the walk? 
A: The walk covers approximately 1 kilometer in 30-45 minutes. 

Q: Is there a registration fee? 
A: Adult registration is $15. 

Registration 

Q: How do I register for the walk? 
A: You can register online at teengirlsunitywalk.com. Please visit the tab labeled “Sign Up.” 

Q: Can I register on the day of the event? 
A: Unfortunately, same-day registration is not available. All participants must register by June 4, 2025.

Q: Where can I pick up my t-shirt? 
A: There will be no early shirt pick-up dates before the event. Shirts will be distributed on-site the day of the Unity Walk. We strongly encourage you to arrive early to allow enough time for check-in and shirt pick-up before the event begins.

Q: Is there a deadline for online registration? 
A: Online registration closes on 6/4/2025 at midnight. 

Participation

Q: Who can participate in the walk? 
A: The walk is open to all ages and fitness levels. 

Q: Can I bring my pet? 
A: Yes, pets are welcome as long as they are on a leash and well-behaved. 

Q: Are strollers and wheelchairs allowed? 
A: Absolutely! The route is stroller and wheelchair friendly. 

Q: What should I wear? 
A: Please wear comfortable walking shoes and your Teen Girls Unity Walk t-shirt / weather-appropriate clothing. 

Event Day

Q: What time should I arrive? 
A: We recommend arriving at least 20 minutes before the start time. 

Q: Where can I park? 
A: Limited street parking is available nearby. Additional accessible parking may be found in privately owned and operated garages in proximity to the park. Public transportation is highly recommended. (Metro rail, Metro bus, Circulator, etc.) 

Q: Can I ride my bike to the event? 
A: Bicycles are welcome in the National Mall & Memorials Park, however, bikes are not permitted to be used during the walk. Bicycle parking is provided near each major memorial and other park areas. Bicycle rentals are available from Thompson Boat Center near the intersection of Virginia Avenue, NW and Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway, NW, just a short distance north of the Lincoln Memorial along the Potomac River-Rock Creek Trail. Additionally, event attendees may make use of Capital Bike share stations located within the National Mall & Memorials Park. 

Q: Will there be restrooms available? 
A: Yes, there will be portable restrooms provided onsite at the event.

Q: Will water and snacks be provided? 
A: Yes, there will be a REPLENISH station for participants to help themselves to water and breakfast snacks.

Q: What happens if it rains? 
A: The walk will take place rain or shine. In the case of severe weather, updates will be posted on our website and social media. Please see our Walk Policies page for more information. 

Safety and Assistance 

Q: Will there be medical assistance on-site? 
A: Yes, there will be a first aid tent and medical personnel will be available throughout the event. 

Q: Who do I contact for more information?

Q: Where do I go if I get lost, lose someone, or lose an item? 
A: There will be a Reunification tent near the beginning of the walk route. This tent will also act as a “Lost and Found.” Items that are not claimed by the end of the event will be discarded.
